At SAGE Speech & Learning Associates, we believe in a team-based approach and work hard to create a support team around each client. We partner with pediatricians, occupational therapists, psychologists, pediatric dentists and more to ensure that each child gets the most effective therapy for that child and that parents and families get the support they need.   Part of this model includes meeting and collaborating with both established, and up-and-coming professionals, in Atlanta.  Recently, our Founding therapist Saren Schapiro, had the good fortune of meeting Dr. Amy Todey.  Dr. Todey currently practices with an excellent group here in Atlanta (Peachtree Psychological Associates) and boasts a very impressive resume and education.  SAGE is proud to welcome her into our group of trusted professionals!  In this blog, Dr. Todey addresses many questions common among families seeking a child psychology professional opinion.  If you are unsure what type of professional you need, or where to turn, call SAREN SCHAPIRO for a free phone consultation.  The SAGE Speech & learning team can guide you towards the right professional who will provide your child the support he/she needs!

What is a neuropsychological evaluation? How can neuropsychological evaluation help my child? What can I expect when I bring my child to a neuropsychologist? When is it appropriate to pursue a neuropsychological evaluation for my child?

Join the SAGE Speech & Learning team in 2018 for a free informational discussion with Dr. Amy Todey! This discussion will explain the process of neuropsychological evaluation, including the types of questions that a neuropsychological evaluation can answer, when a neuropsychological evaluation may be appropriate, and how neuropsychological evaluation can serve to guide educational programing and advocacy efforts for children. This talk will also review common neurodevelopmental disorders of childhood, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Dyslexia, and Learning Disorders and provide general treatment and intervention recommendations.
